AFITA Industry Award 2023 – Nominations Now Open

In 2023, the Australian Forklift and Industrial Truck Association (AFITA) created an award to honour an individual or individuals from Australian forklift industry who have made an outstanding contribution to the value, recognition or reputation of the industry.

Eligibility: To be eligible for the AFITA Industry Award, the nominee:

  • is an individual or individuals from the Australian Forklift & Industrial Truck industry;
  • has made a significant contribution to the value, recognition or reputation of the industry

The Prize is to be awarded annually and presented at the AFITA Annual Dinner which will be held in 2023 in Brisbane on 1 June 2023.

Nominations are to be made in the form of a submission of no more than 500 words forwarded to the AFITA Executive Officer, Sue Hart.

The closing date for nominations for the 2023 AFITA Industry Award is

5 May 2023.

Forklift Safety Week : Standards, Safety and Industrial Trucks Video Now Online

With the decision to move the 2020 Forklift Safety Week online as a series of webinars allowed the webinars to be recorded so the could be available after the webinars.

Website upgrades to allow video viewing to be online have now been completed and the first of the videos has been posted to the AFITA Website.

2020 Forklift Safety Week Goes Online

The Australian Forklift and Industrial Trucks Association has been presenting Forklift Safety Week since 2011.

In light of the COVID-19 restrictions, we are moving this initiative online for this year.

The AFITA Safety Week Seminar, which in the past has been an all day face to face event, will become a series of four on-line seminars  which will be presented over two weeks commencing 17 June 2020.

AITA to Conduct Forklift Safety Seminar in Melbourne

The President of the Australian Industrial Truck Association (AITA), Steve Takacs, has announced that the AITA will be holding a Forklift Safety Seminar in Melbourne in conjunction with the Workplace Health and Safety Show in Melbourne on Wednesday 23 and Thursday 24 May 2018.

The AITA Seminar (free with registration) will be held on Wednesday 23 May 2018 from 1.30pm—4.30pm. Attendance is free after registration. Booking form in PDF can be downloaded by clicking here. And in Word here.

Here at the AITA we believe that forklift incidents can be prevented, when manufacturers, businesses and workers, all work together to improve forklift safety in the workplace.

Safety Week 2015. Seminars in Sydney and Melbourne

AITA - Safety Week 2015 FylerAITA will conduct two FLT Safety Week seminars in 2015 one in Sydney and one in Melbourne. The booking form is here.

The seminars will help make sure your business is aware of current forklift safety requirements. Make sure you have all the facts. Hundreds of people are injured and some die in Australia each year in forklift accidents. Attention to safety not only makes economic sense. It is the right thing to do.
